This weekly writing group meets every Tuesday at 1 P.M. We write using Natalie Goldberg's timed writing practice and a variation using short sentences, chaining, long sentence release, and dialogue. We begin writing from start lines and keep writing until the timer goes off, ignoring monkey mind's negative narrative. This method develops the voice, generates story, and frees the mind to venture into unexplored territory. Please bring a notebook and pen and come a few minutes early to make a cup of tea. Cost: $20/month or $7/drop-in.

Introduction to Creative Writing
This five week class takes place at Whatcom Community College, 6:30-9:00 Thursday evenings, beginning January 26th-Feburary 23rd. We will learn how authors write short fiction, creative non-fiction and other genres, We will experiment with form in free-writes and read finished pieces in class.
